Java Earthquake Emergency Support |
|
The earthquake
of May 27th in Java, Indonesia, has prompted the necessity for
immediate support in medical care and treatment. As a member
of Japan Platform, NICCO has launched its emergency aid to the
earthquake victims. On May 31st, two of NICCO staff; a
Japanese nurse and an Indonesian speaking doctor from East
Timor were dispatched to Java in joint action with the NPO
“Frontline (地球のステージ: Chikyu-no-stage)”. They have immediately
begun the emergency medical relief activities.

Publicity and consulting in connection with international
cooperation: NICCO is granted as a NGO's consultant
to the Japanese Foreign Ministry. Other activities include
human resources development such as internship and fund-raising
training.
Most recentry, NICCO started to develop its own farm
of five hectar in size located in Otsu, Siga Prefecture.The
site is designed to serve both for experimented reserch
and practical training for those who are to engafe in
healthy food production.
