At the end of July 2011, heavy rain caused by tropical low pressure system and monsoon resulted in massive flooding. NICCO has worked to improve hygiene standards for the victims and has supported recovery of the affected area.

Emergency Relief Activities for the Syrian Refugees in Jordan
NICCO starts its emergency relief activities for the Syrian Refugees in neighboring Jordan.
As the battle between the Assad government and the anti-Assad groups is escalates, over 320 thousands of Syrian refugees have crossed the borders into Jordan, Turkey, Iraq and other neighboring countries (UNHCR, as of October 4, 2012). Approximately 105 thousands of victims are living in the Zaatari Camp located in northwestern Jordan. Three fourths of them are women and children. Displaced from their home country, they are forced to survive in the harsh conditions of rain, sandstorms and dropping temperature. The Jordan government reports that over 200 thousands of Syrians have fled to Jordan.(Nov. 27th, 2012)
