Mechanism of charity auction

○Cultural figures and artists
The primary purpose of our annual charity auction is to raise money to fund NICCO's various development projects. Several cultural and religious figures, as well as artists from across Japan kindly donate their time and talents to support our cause.

○Various corporations
Ever since our first annual charity auction, various Kyoto department stores have graciously provided their exhibition halls for our use.
In addition, for the past 4 years, Seven Create Corporation has printed our flyer and poster advertisements in color, as well as our exhibition panel.
Furthermore, last year we were able to offer complimentary coffee to every visitor thanks to the Kyowa Food Corporation's support.
Moreover, the Asics Corporation has donated autographed sports memorabilia, which has made our auction even more enjoyable.
Finally, Kyo-hyougu Suzunoya and Kousaidou corporations have assisted in framing and temporarily hanging the artwork showcases.

○Visitors
The revenue from our annual charity auction is used to fund NICCO's various projects in developing countries. Therefore, every customer who purchases an auction item not only obtains the skilled work of each artist, but also gets to be involved in global humanitarian action.
During our last auction, we were able to raise over 10 million yen from successful bids. After deducting necessary expenses from the total sum, the remaining 8.7 million yen was put toward NICCO's projects. Among our projects were Malawi's hunger prevention project, providing urgent support to victims of Pakistan's earthquake, and providing reconstruction assistance to Afghanistan.

○Volunteers
Since the beginning, our charity auction has been planned and managed by volunteers. Thanks to their help, we are able to maximize the proceeds we donate to humanitarian projects.

A Summary of Last Year's Auction

○Artwork
At our 16th annual auction, 174 cultural figures and artists donated over 276 of their masterpieces, which included calligraphy, ceramics, traditional crafts, and Japanese tea sets. Those artists generously donated their valuable artwork, including their own materials, to our cause.

○Various Auction Events
We were able to hold several events throughout the duration of our auction. On the first day, we hosted a brushwork performance by Mr. Keiji Sasaki (a Japanese-style painter), a lecture on Fusuma painting by Mr. Taisuke Hamada (a Japanese-style painter), and a lecture by Mr. Randy Channel (a tea master).
We also hosted an organic olive oil tasting session, featuring olive oil made in Jordan where NICCO is conducting daily humanitarian activities.
In addition, we offered complimentary coffee provided by Kyowa Food Corporation to every visitor.
Moreover, collaboration with the Asics Corporation enabled us auction autographed bats and balls from Carp's Mr. Maeda and 12 Orix baseball players.

○Customers

Over the course of last year's auction, more than 4,000 customers visited our exhibition and attended our events as well as a presentation on NICCO's global activities. Overall, the auction was highly successful.
